Mally Jourdain is a terrible witch. So bad, she might as well be human. Until she discovers a mortally wounded rougarou, one of the wolfmen of the bayous, in a New Orleans alleyway--and she heals him. With magic.
Fun fact: witches cannot heal rougarous. Even the most powerful witches. But Mally did. And he ran off into the night--with not so much as a thank you. Rude.
Now, Mally's life is getting even weirder. She's being followed by a group of teenagers, who could be identical quadruplets with buck teeth. She's nearly abducted by a super creepy gator Shifter, and she's also stalked by greaser wannabes, who look like the rejects from a prison production of West Side Story. Things can't possibly get stranger.
Or maybe it could, because the rougarou is watching her, too. What's that saying--no good deed goes unpunished?
On the upside, Mally suddenly seems to be a very important witch.
On the downside, Mally suddenly seems to be a very important witch. She has no idea what all these creatures want from her. And she's not sure she is witch enough to find out.
Mally Jourdain has gone from being the worst witch ever to a princess--literally overnight. Sabotage wedding, anyone? Now she's hitched to the crowned prince of the rougarous, who also happens to be the sexiest man/wolf in existence.
Sounds great, right?
Unfortunately, it's a marriage of convenience, which royally sucks, because, you know, the whole smokin' hot thing. She's also now a stepmother, which might be okay. The jury's out on that one. But at least her previously non-existent magic is working. Well, sometimes. Okay, not at all, really.
For the past few month, Mally Jourdain--wait, it's Princess Mally Dubois now--feels as if things are going pretty well in her witchy world.
She has managed to save the day for the rougarou pack that she now lives among. Some of them even seem to like her. Well, a little anyway. She's made some new bayou friends, including a fairy and a real Bayou Witch. And it appears her arranged marriage to the rougarou prince is getting interesting. Very, very interesting...
But a shadow from the past is lurking. She can feel it. Her witching abilities are still dicey, and she needs to get them working—and fast. So, when she encounters another Bayou Witch, who offers to help her with her magic, Mally can't resist.
Unfortunately, not all is as it seems, and she finds herself in a big, ole, magical mess. Can she sort out her shoddy magic and save herself and her family? Again.
Note to self: Never warm a Cup-a-Soup using magic when it's just as easy to use a microwave.
Violet Jourdain is in trouble. She made a bad choice when preparing her lunch, and now she is in hot water with Baba Yaga herself. Her punishment? Two weeks of no magic and a forced vacation to rest, relax, and get her head on straight.
That doesn't sound too bad, right? Except Violet is a workaholic Healing Witch, who has no idea how to take a break. Not that she can relax even if she tries.
Why? Because she's staying in an apparently haunted cottage in the middle of the Louisiana bayou.
Add to that, her familiar, a proper British housecat, is suddenly acting like a rude, creepy lecher. She also has a supposed ghost leaving her menacing, but possibly, helpful messages. And her only neighbor is her sister's brother-in-law, who happens to talk to himself—or maybe dead people—but is still the most attractive man she's ever met. Yeah, things are definitely not relaxing.
Oh well, peace and quiet isn't all it's cracked up to be anyway.
Welcome to the steamy Louisiana bayou, where the magic is unpredictable and the rougarous (Louisiana werewolves) are hot!
Meet Mally Jourdain, a witch whose magic is abysmmal, who has a drunken crawfish for a familiar, and who finds herself being stalked by a multitide of deadly and paranormal creatures. Can anyone say, "Bad day?"
Books 1-3 at a fabulous price!
The first book in the Magic & Mayhem Universe -created by the fantastically talented, Robyn Peterman.
Released from the magic pokey and paroled with limited power is enough to make any witch grumpy. However, if you throw in a recently resurrected cat, a lime-green Kia and a sexy egotistical werewolf, it's enough to make a gal fly off the edge.
Not to mention a mission...with no freaking directions.
So here I sit in Asscrack, West Virginia trying to figure out how to complete my mysterious mission before All Hallows Eve when I’ll get turned into a mortal. The animals in the area are convinced I'm the Shifter Whisperer (whatever the hell that is) and the hotter-than- asphalt-in-August werewolf thinks I'm his mate. Now apparently I'm slated to save a bunch of hairy freaks of nature?
If they think I'm the right witch for the job, they've swallowed some bad brew.
Iris Jourdain is just a witch trying to meet a nice guy. But instead she finds herself in the crosshairs of relentless paranormal stalkers, determined to snatch her away. Or something far worse!
Enter Marcel, her grumpy brother-in-law, whose growls and scowls make it crystal clear that he has zero tolerance for witches. Tasked with guarding Iris, he's about as warm and fuzzy as a snowstorm. But as these two unlikely allies spend more time together, Iris begins to wonder if there's more to Marcel than meets the eye. Could he possibly be her very own Prince Charming in disguise.
Hold onto your broomsticks and join Iris as she discovers that sometimes a grumpy rougarou might just be the key to finding true magic and love in the most unexpected places.
NYT and USA Today best selling author, Robyn Peterman writes because the people inside her head won’t leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. She writes snarky, sexy, funny paranormal and snarky, sexy, funny contemporaries.
Her addictions include laughing really hard with friends, shoes (the expensive kind), Target, Coke (the drink LOL) with extra ice in a Yeti cup, bejeweled reading glasses, her kids, her super-hot hubby and collecting stray animals.
A former professional actress, with Broadway, film and T.V. credits, she now lives in the south with her family and too many animals to count. Writing gives her peace and makes her whole, plus having a job where she can work in her sweatpants works really well for her.
Fabulous authors. Fun, funny, and magical collections. And all for an awesome price. Summer is looking pretty sunny!
